North Salt Lake Officials Say it Could be Months Before Life Returns to Normal in Landslide Area

IT COULD BE NEXT YEAR, BEFORE LIFE RETURNS TO NORMAL... IN THAT NORTH SALT LAKE NEIGHBORHOOD, WHERE ONE HOME IS DESTROYED... AND THREE OTHERS REMAIN ON MANDATORY EVACUATION.

TO GIVE US PERSPECTIVE, GEOLOGISTS SAY, THE VOLUME OF DIRT -- THAT CRUSHED THE HOME -- IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF TWO ENERGY SOLUTIONS ARENAS.

NORTH SALT LAKE CITY MANAGER BARRY EDWARDS SAYS, THE CITY WILL PAY TO CLEANUP THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

IT'S NOT YET KNOWN IF THE CITY WILL ALSO PAY FOR THE HOME THAT CRUSHED IN THE LANDSLIDE.

ANOTHER TWO DOZEN HOMES IN THE AREA ALSO REMAIN UNDER A VOLUNTARY EVACUATION ADVISORY.
