Cold Too Much For One School's Heating System

NEARLY 900 HIGHLAND JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, IN OGDEN, ENJOYED MONDAY OFF...COURTESY OF OLD MAN WINTER.

OGDEN DISTRICT OFFICIALS DISCOVERED THE SCHOOL'S BOILER COIL FROZE OVERNIGHT, DISABLING THE HEATING SYSTEM.

ZAC WILLIAMS, WITH THE DISTRICT, SAYS CREWS WERE OPTIMISTIC IT COULD BE REPAIRED, FOR SCHOOL TO RESUME, TUESDAY.

AN OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURE OF SIX DEGREES BELOW ZERO WAS RECORDED IN OGDEN.

MEANTIME, SCHOOL BUSSES RAN LATE -- IN SEVERAL DISTRICTS, MONDAY MORNING -- BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T START...AND THEY WERE SLOWED BY SLICK DRIVING CONDITIONS.
