Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Police Car on Belt Route

AN HABITUAL DRUNK DRIVER COULD FACE JAIL TIME, AFTER HITTING A UNIFIED POLICE SQUAD CAR -- AND INJURING THE OFFICER -- EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.

AUTHORITIES SAY THIS WAS TERRELL REID'S THIRD DRUNK DRIVING INCIDENT... MEANING HE WILL AUTOMATICALLY FACE A THIRD DEGREE FELONY CHARGE.

AUTHORITIES SAY, ABOUT 2 FRIDAY MORNING, REID RAN HIS TRUCK INTO THE PARKED POLICE VEHICLE... ON THE SOUTHSIDE BELT ROUTE, NEAR FASHION PLACE MALL.

THE 27-YEAR-OLD POLICE OFFICER HAD STOPPED TO ASSIST ANOTHER DRIVER... AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH A SHOULDER INJURY.

HE WAS LATER RELEASED, IN GOOD CONDITION.

POLICE SAY REID, 28, FLED THE SCENE... BUT WAS ARRESTED LATER, WHEN A TIRE ON HIS TRUCK FELL OFF.
